PROFILE

Dr. David O. Igbokwe studied Psychology at the Bachelors and Doctoral levels and has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. He is currently a Faculty member, Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist at Covenant University Ota. Prior to joining Covenant University, Dr. Igbokwe worked with the International Federation for Psychotherapy (IFP), Psychotherapy Center, Enugu from 2001 to 2005.

Dr. Igbokwe treats a wide range of psychological disorders and adjustment issues. He specializes in brief psychotherapies especially brief CBT, conducts Employee Assistance Programs by serving as Wellness Advisor and Employee Assistance Professional in two international corporations in Nigeria. He is currently an International Clinical Affiliate with Optum Health Solutions, UK and is the Secretary of the Employee Assistance Professional Association (EAPA) Nigeria.

Zuriel Oluwabukunola Olowe is a Lawyer, therapist, and inspirational speaker who is passionate about people’s emotional stability and development . She has worked with young adults on sexual challenges and positive development. She holds a PGD in Theology and is also an NLP Master Practitioner, an Advanced Character-Based Relationship & Sexual Integrity Educator, a Lay-Crisis Counsellors Facilitator, a trained Counsellor of Troubled Children and a Parenting On Purpose Facilitator. She is also an alumna of the Daystar Basic Leadership Academy.

Zuriel is an advocate for child rights and child protection and has worked in various capacities as Therapist/Trainer and Counsellor with exposure to various individuals within the ages of 4 years and 55 years with cases such as Addiction (Sex and/or Alcohol), Sexual abuse/Physical abuse, Emotional trauma (Divorce, Separation or Grief) and individuals seeking behavioural changes. She currently works at the Centre for Sex Education and Family Life in Lagos as a Consultant/Therapist working with people with various challenges (emotional/physical). Previously, she was Director of Programs at Parent/Child Initiative and Crisis Therapist at WiseUp Foundation for Girls.

Gbemi is a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) with special interest in marriage and family therapy, play therapy for children and individual psychotherapy for adolescents and adults. She has been privileged to work with various client populations from different economic strata and ethnic backgrounds, addressing challenges such as relationship problems, marital conflict, anger management, grief, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidality and phase of life problems. She adopts a multicultural and integrative approach to therapy which enables her to adapt to each client situation and employ appropriate strategies that would be beneficial to each client per time.

She holds a master’s degree (MA) in Family Psychology from Hardin-Simmons University, Texas and is a member of Psi Chi, the International Honour Society in Psychology. She is a certified Counsellor by the Canadian Institute of Christian Counselling (Nigeria Chapter) and has been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for working with troubled children. She has worked as the Counsellor and Welfare officer of The Real Woman Foundation, Lagos Nigeria. Gbemi believes in a new Nigeria and has chosen to play her part by impacting the home front. According to her, the family being the most fundamental unit of society is its greatest agent of change.
